The Department of Physics is one of the oldest departments in this College, started in 1960. A former Faculty of this department, Late Satyaprakash has been a well known author of a number of physics books. The department conducts Undergraduate (3 Years B.Sc.) and PostGraduate Course (2 Years M.Sc.) in Physics. The Intake of Students at UG level is 320 while at PG level it is 20. The admission to UG Course is made through merit list, while admission to PG Course is made through the Entrance Test conducted by the MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. The Department has well equipped separate practical laboratories for each class. Examinations to the above courses are conducted by the University annually. The syllabus for the B.Sc. course has been revised in accordance with the unified syllabus of U.P., w.e.f. 2011-12 session. Recently, the Syllabus for the M.Sc. course has been revised w.e.f. 2017-18 session. This department is a registered centre to conduct two National Examinations viz. the 1st stage of the International Physics and Junior Science Olympiads (known as NSEP, NSEJS), and National Graduate Physics Exam (NGPE). Alumni of this department have got PhD and post doctoral fellowship not only in the reputed institutes in India but abroad also including USA, France, Germany, United Kingdom, South Korea, NewZealand, Singapore, Portugal, Sweden.
