A function was organized to celebrate the birth of great Mathematician Ramanujan (22nd December) every year since 2016. In this function department organized the following activities:
1. Poster Presentation competition,
2. Quiz competition,
3. PowerPoint Presentation,
4. Cultural events etc.
Every year department also organizes Fresher function and Farewell function for newly admitted students and passing out students respectively.
On 5th September every year students of department celebrate teachers day. Various activities (Cultural and Academic) are organized on this auspicious day.
Dr. Sarvesh Kumar, Alumni of the college (Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram) delivered a lecture on a topic "Theory and Application of Differential Equations" on 16th Oct, 2017. He interacted with students and also guided them to shape their careers in Mathematical Sciences.
A national Conference was organized by the department on 24th-25th, Feb 2018 on "Advances in Operations Research and Mathematical Sciences". Scholars from renowned Institutions/Universities participated in this event. Resource persons from various renowned universities delivered keynote addresses. The event was a milestone in the history of department as well as the college. It paved the way for students and research scholars to achieve their goals in the field of mathematics. It was a great success.
An International Lecture Workshop on "Journey of Inventory Research from Ford Whitman Harris Inventory Model (1913) to 2018" was organized on 20th Dec 2018. Prof. Biswajit Sarkar, Dept. of Industrial & Management Engineering, Hanyang University, South Korea delivered a fruitful lecture on topic "Evolution of Inventory Management Research: A point by point observation" and Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Business Solution Manager with SAS Middle East, Dubai discussed various issues of chain management by taking examples from industries.
The Department also organized a lecture series for the P.G. students before the lecture of Prof. Biswajit Sarkar and Mr. Gaurav Sharma, so that the students become familiar with the subject and get fully benefited from the lecture of Prof. Biswajit Sarkar and Mr. Gaurav Sharma. Around 30 students from our college and 50 scholars and teachers from different Colleges and Universities participated in this International workshop.
