Vardhaman College is situated in a clean and calm environment at Kiratpur-Nazibabad road in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in July 1960 with a purpose to provide access to higher education to the people of district Bijnor and nearby areas. It was due to the efforts of the former Principal Dr. S. R. Tyagi and the active social worker of the city Shri R. K. Jain and his brother Shri K. P. Jain (Our Management) that this college came into existence. The college was inaugurated then by the honourable Minister Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim. Initially, only B.Sc., B.A. and B.Ed. Courses were started and the college was affiliated to Agra University. It is because of the determination, committment and efforts of the management that the college is excelling continously and is one of the leading colleges of the University and in the State.
At present, the college offers UG and PG course in the following subjects of humanities and social sciences- Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Economics, History and Geography. At UG level, Sociology, Education and Political Science are also available for students.
For students of Science stream, Physics, Mathematics Chemistry/Statistics are offered for Maths group and Botany, Zoology and Chemistry are offered for Biology group at U.G. level. The college also offers M.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics in regular scheme. The college also offers UG and PG in Commerce stream. There are compulsory papers of Environmental studies and Sports & Physical Education for all students at UG level. The college offers the following courses under the self finance scheme - B.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. (Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Zoology). College also offers NSS and NCC to students. Jainology Research Centre has also been established in the College.
College has a beautiful and sufficient infrastructure with a rich central library, well equipped laboratories, lecture theatres with Smart classes, botanical garden and a sports field. All the classrooms and labs are well equipped with CCTV cameras to maintain discipline amongst students and check any sort of misconduct. The college has an academically rich and extremely efficient teaching staff and equally laborious and committed non-teaching staff. In the Manangement Committee, the College has Shri K. P. Jain as the President of the Management Committee of the college, Shri Mohit Jain as the honourary Secretary of Shri Vardhaman Educational Society and Shri Arjun Sahoo as honourary Secretary of the Management Committee of the college who take keen interest in the creative activities of the college. The college is always benefited by the progressive outlook of the management and their kind attitude towards all its staff members.
