The Department of Mathematics was founded in 1965 as a part of the Vardhaman (P.G.) College, which is one of the reputed constituent colleges of M. J. P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (U.P). The Department had the privilege of having eminent scholars like Dr. P.C. Jain, Dr. B.D. Gupta, Dr. H. C. Sharma, Dr. S. B. Verma, Dr. Naresh Kumar and many more. Growing steadily, department of Mathematics not only teaches the student of graduate and postgraduate classes but has several research papers and books to its credits. The department has well-recognized strongly motivated faculty with diverse specialization in various research interests in the areas of Fluid Dynamics, Entire Function, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management and many more topics providing a potential for pursuing research work leading to Ph. D degree. The Department of Mathematics at Vardhaman College Bijnor currently offers three programmes: B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. programme. The department has so far produced over 15 Ph.Ds. Admission in B.Sc program is made as per the merit on college level whereas in M.Sc. admission is through entrance examination conducted by M. J. P. Rohilkhand University. Mathematical society named “Ramanujan Mathematical Society” has been working actively since 2017 in the department.
